In October of 2009, franchisee operators of Wendy’s restaurants in the United States, in collaboration with Wendy’s International, Inc. agreed to form a member-owned purchasing and supply chain cooperative to provide supply chain services for all Franchisee and Company operated restaurants in North America.  Quality Supply Chain Cooperative, Inc. (QSCC) first official day of business was January 4, 2010.  QSCC sources and contracts to purchase food, packaging, equipment, distribution, logistics, and other services necessary to support the successful operation of Wendy’s restaurants.  The co-op (QSCC) is a separate corporation with governance oversight from an elected and appointed independent Board of Directors representing all franchisee and company operators of Wendy’s restaurants in North America.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager of Building Materials Procurement contributes to the growth and profitability of QSCC members by optimizing purchasing strategies, programs, supplier relationships and processes affiliated with Wendy’s new and existing restaurant development initiatives. Partnering with the Wendy’s Design & Construction team, this role focuses on sourcing capital goods including interior & exterior building materials, furniture, fixtures, signage, drive through components and other items affiliated with restaurant construction.  The Manager of Building Materials Procurement ensures timely supply of high-quality products while providing leadership in the areas of cost management, restaurant enhancement, supplier management, sustainability, and outstanding customer service to QSCC members. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage entire sourcing process for assigned spend categories using consolidation and leverage of company spend through structured sourcing and competitive bidding processes.
  • Identify internal business needs to produce and negotiate RFI's/RFPs, SOWs, SLAs and agreements with supplier community to ensure an uninterrupted availability and accessibility of products and services.
  • Provide direction, leadership, and development opportunities to the building materials team to best support members, internal customers, and external partners.
  • Develop and implement key performance metrics and analysis for verification and reporting while conducting benchmarking activities, business reviews and evaluation programs for assigned categories.
  • Administer/manage supplier agreements, inventory levels and supplier performance relative to business needs and market conditions for assigned categories.
  • Create a cross-functional working environment to engage suppliers, key internal stakeholders and other strategic development partners to drive continuous innovation.
  • Provide supplier and member service support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience in indirect procurement or Supply Chain Management including three years experience in project management, construction or similar experience.
  • Experience managing people strongly preferred
  • Minimum of one to three years working in a franchise environment preferred
  • Broad understanding of the Foodservice Industry and supplier community
  • Accomplished analytical, reporting, and computer skills. Excel skills a must!
